Copper Acid Etching

Acid etching creates images on metal. The process involves coating the metal in an acid resistant substance called the resist. Areas are left uncoated, or the coating is scratched away to define the desired image. This exposes the underlying metal, which is then partially burned away, or etched when acid is applied.
